floats

She floats in the night,

like a cloud slipping by the moon,

or the barest of shadows on a gloomy day.

She floats in the night,

with darkness as her friend,

a non-place,

where all her dreams,

are reality.

She floats in the night,

free,

beautiful,

serene,

her invisible lover,

whispering his tongue across her neck,

makes promises she knows he will keep.

She floats in the night,

where his kisses are warm,

his hand is hot,

and his heart is pure.

She floats in the night,

living in the ether,

surrendering herself to the charcoal mist,

being all she is,

without fear.
